Promarine SPECIAL VESSEL

PROM 1860 MRI

The PROM 1860 MRI, with a length of 18.6 meters, was built by Promarine Yachts SA on behalf of Promarine Innovations.

Our company includes in its fleet a truly exceptional result of Swedish and Italian naval engineering. The PROM 1860 MRI represents a new generation of interceptor vessels that are faster, more powerful, wider, and more stable characteristics that naturally led to its inclusion in our company’s fleet.

By combining great talents in the fields of design and engineering, this vessel is a jewel for our company, while at the same time serving as a real showcase of what the latest technologies on the market can achieve, introducing impressive capabilities including propulsion flexibility, hybrid construction materials, extended patrol range, significant offshore capabilities, and reduced sensitivity to weight distribution.

The PROM 1860 MRI combines high-quality design, which is only part of the equation, as the tooling process is equally important to ensure that the final product accurately reflects expectations and provides consistent performance and long-term durability.

Speed: 60+ knots
Power: 2,400 HP

Once the design and outfitting of the vessel were completed, another major factor was the quality of components provided by our partners since building a fast boat is easy but building a boat that is fast every day is a completely different story and an entirely different challenge. As is understood, careful attention was paid in the selection of components, from composite materials to every single wire, nut, and bolt.

Since our company has the privilege of owning such a remarkable and distinctive vessel in its fleet, it is worth mentioning some of its key technical features. To properly understand the following specifications, we must first consider the reason for which the PROM 1860 MRI was built.

The vessel was developed to be a powerful open sea interception platform with extended range capabilities and well-defined yet advanced parameters. Consequently, it is clear that in order to meet the required specifications, the development process was divided into the distinct categories of propulsion, control, navigation and communication, and production tools. A key parameter was the vessel’s need to be self-sustaining and unsinkable. Another was its ability to perform fully under adverse weather conditions up to Sea State 5, and to remain operational up to Sea State 6.

Additionally, the vessel is capable of maintaining cruising speed above 40 knots under normal sailing conditions and can achieve speeds over 60 knots in sprint mode.
