PROTUG 87, with IMO number: 9043500, is regarded as one of the most successful tugboats in our fleet, having completed 32 years of service. Built in 1992, PROTUG 87 remains capable of completing demanding missions under challenging conditions to this day, continuing with reliability and consistency to promote the name of ProMarine Innovations and Greek maritime excellence across the globe.
This distinctive anchor handling tug (AHT) of our company features a bollard pull of 87 tons and is powered by two CATERPILLAR 3608 D1 – TA propellers, generating a total propulsion power of 4,480 kilowatts. Its strength makes PROTUG 87 ideal for precision-based operations, such as anchor handling, deployment and retrieval of anchors for ships, and support in various offshore procedures. Such operations are essential in ports across Europe and in offshore platforms across the globe.

With thousands of nautical miles under its belt, from the Straits of Gibraltar to the Persian Gulf, PROTUG 87 continues to serve actively in 2024, having already operated in key ports such as Brăila, Romania, and Bratvåg, Norway.
